AFTERNOON PARTY.
Mrs L! L. Cordery was hostess yesterday at her home in Papanui Road, at an afternoon- reception in honour, Of Miss Hilary Fryer, whose; marriage to Mr Helyar Bishop will take place on Tuesday. The music room was decorated with. blue hydrangeas, pink roses, and white geraniums, and during the afternoon songs were sung by Mrs T. J. D. Willcox, and Mrs T. Kendall and Miss Vivienne Kendall gave pianoforte solos. A reading from a play was given by Mrs M’Leod. Mrs Cordery wore a satin frock patterned in black and.-white, and a small coat of black silk net trimmed with steel embroidery. The guest of honour wore a blue and white printed crepe de chine frock with a small blue hat. Among those present were: —Miss Hilary Fryer, Mrs E. L. Cordery, Mrs E. A.
