NOTED VISITOR.
On Fishing Trip Through New Zealand. After fishing extensively in the North Island, Engineer Rear-Admiral G. W. Bodell, R.N. (retired), of London, has come on to the South Island. He is spending the summer in New Zealand and has brought his own car with him. He proposes later to visit Australia and South Africa. He stated this morning that he was very pleased with the fishing. He had met with success in the Waikato, the Tongariro, the Manawatu and Rangitikei Rivers. In some parts of the Waikato he fished a number of pools which had not been fished before, having to cut his way to the river bank and cut down the ti-tree before he could cast. Golf and tennis have also engaged'his attention since he came to New Zealand. He will be in Christchurch for several days, leaving later for Peel Forest, where he will put in some time fishing with a friend. After that he proceeds to Dunedin. He said that, his visit to New Zealand had been well worth while, and he was particularly pleased with the South Island’s scenic attractions, even more so than the h. orth Island.
