Rest Room Closed.

Dear Sir,—May I take up a little of your valuable space to agree with your correspondent “ Neglect ” in regard to the closing of the women’s rest room on Sundays. It is more than inconvenient for a mother with a young baby. I am afraid that our rest room is not really there for the benefit of women, but for the money it makes. That may also apply to the creche. I had occasion to be in town one day and could not get home in time to feed my young baby, so I went to the creche and as the time was exactly 12 minutes to five I was asked by the attendant (certainly in a very nice manner) as they closed sharp at five, would 1 mind hurrying, which I did. I was there exactly ten minutes and on leaving I was asked to pay sixpence. Now as my husband is unfortunately on relief work I have not too many sixpences to waste and I thought it was rather much to ask for the use of a chair for ten minutes. I suppose the City Council is more concerned with the money it might make than the convenience of mothers with babies.—l am, etc , DISGUST ED.
