PAKAPOO RAID.
Chinese Laundryman to Pay Heavy Fine. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON. This Day. As a result of a police search yesterday afternoon for pakapoo material in Vivian Street premises, Lim Bens?, aged 32, a laundryman, was fined £25 in the Magistrate’s Court to-day for allowing premises to be used as a common gaming house. He was allowed a fortnight to pay. Donald Stuart Fraser, aged 33. a relief worker, who admitted being on the premises without lawful excuse, was convicted and ordered to pay costs within a fortnight. Two Chinese fruiterers, charged similarly to Fraser, pleaded not guilty and the cases were adjourned until to-morrow.
