FRUITGROWERS' REQUEST.
With regard to the recent trouble concerning the marketing of fruit the 1 committee of the Christchurch Tomato , and Stone Fruit Growers’ Association. » at a special meeting last night, decided to request the continuance of payment | for cases. Letters were received from I the Central Otago organisation and ■ kindred associations in Christchurch. ; and in all instances the same opinion ! was expressed. It was stated that a letter had been . received from the Fruitbrokers’ Association. announcing that from Friday next the buj-ers would not pay the ; same amount for cases as formerly, but the growers would not agree to any ; change.
