First, wash carefully with a cloth wrung out in warm water to which a little vinegar has been added. Dry thoroughly, then whisk up the whites of an egg with a dash of turpentine and apply with a flannel. Afterwards polish with a clean ; cloth. If the leather is badly cracked il would be better to rub it well with vaseline and leave it on for twelve hours. This is a wonderful restorative, and the leather can be treated in the above manner when the vaseline has been absorbed.
