E. Edmunds’s brilliant colt Inflation has been turned out for three months. He is at Otaki in B. J. Nicol’s charge, and the treatment recommended by Mr E. Mason" of Woodville. is to be continued. When Inflation pulled up lame after his race at the Feilding spring meeting, he was sent over to Woodville and put into Mr Mason’s hands. The soundness of the new treatment is made amply evident by the fact that Inflation was able to compete in three races during the holidays. He won each time out at Awapuni, and was beaten into second place at Tau-here-nikau, where West Tor was in receipt of two stone in weight. Since Nicol obtained his license about a week before Manawatu he has started Inflation and Inveresk on eight occasions for two firsts, four seconds, a third and ‘a fourth.
