BRITISH BANKS.
Increased Earnings. British Official Wireless. RUGBY, January 8. The last of the big British banks announced its results to-day. All of the ‘ Big Five” show increased earnings in 1934 and dividends, in every case, have been maintained. Of the three banks whose balancesheets have been published, the Westminster declared a dividend of 18 per cent, the Midland 16, and the National Provincial 15. On the Stock Exchange to-day bank shares closed firm.
