TENNIS CLUB’S DANCE.

MIDSUMMER STYLlNG.—Effective manipulation of the striped fabric occurs in a bias-cut frock and youthful frill collar and sleeve detail. Navy blue linen makes the belt and neckline bow. Eyelet embroidered batiste in beige tone is styled in more formal daytime jacket costume, with double edge of the flower appliques ornamenting turnback revers. Brown and beige grosgrain is employed for the belt, with decorative buckle of gold and brown.

Held at Riccarton on New Year’s Eve. On New Year’s Eve, the Riccarton Domain Tennis Club held an enjoyable dance in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Upper Riccarton. The music was supplied by Fred Smith’s Dance Orchestra, and many novelties were distributed. A Monte Carlo fox trot -was won by Miss B. Rose and partner. Members of the Social Committee responsible for the success of the dance were:—Misses F. Davison, M. Purvis, Z. Rattray, D. Millard, B. Ford, M. Harrow and T. Stephenson, Messrs R. Martin, J.
