“UP IN ARMS.”
Members of Notts Cricket Club. (Continued from Page 1). United Press Assn.—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. (Received January 3, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, January 2. Mr Whitby, interviewed, said that the members of the Notts County Cricket Club were up in arms at having the news from Australia regarding an apology of which they knew nothing. “My object is not to damage the club, but to prevent further resignations.” he said. “It is reported that more than 100 have resigned and that public opinion in Nottingham is solidly behind Larwood and Voce. Their living is at stake, and they cannot speak. Someone must protect them.” The Notts Committee meets on January 16. Mr Whitby said: “ There is wholesale dissatisfaction among the club members at receiving first information via Australia”
