A charge against F2ugene Joseph Grotty, of Wanganui, of not complying with the conditions imposed on the sale of tickets in the Penny Art Union to send the oarsmen to Australia was dismissed, the Magistrate holding that his actions were bona fide. Charles Henry Wilson, of Wellington, the organiser of the artunion, was charged with aiding another in selling the tickets on the street, which was forbidden by the license, and pleaded guilty. He was fined £5.
