DONATION OF £SOOO.
Mr T. H. Lowry’s Gift to Children’s Homes. Per Press Association. NAPIER, This Day. A gift of £SOOO has been made by Mr T. H. Lowry, the well-known sportsman and resident of Okewa, Ilawke’s Bay, to the funds of the Hawke’s Bay Children’s Homes, the money to be invested and the interest used for maintenance purposes. Since the earthquake the homes have been in a bad state financially, with an overdraft of £2OOO at the bank and the rehabilitation loan of £3OOO is still outstanding. The annual cost of «.he maintenance of the homes is approximately £4OOO, additional to gifts in kind. The gift will considerably assist the trustees to meet current obligations from year to year.
