RICCARTON BOROUGH.
Extra Lighting in Lincoln Road. A meeting of the Riecarton Borough Council was held last evening: present. The Mavor (Mr H. b. S. K> le, M.P.), and Councillors F. S. Wilding. O. PFraser, H. W. Wise, S. B. Kershaw. R. G Malcolmson and H. Odell. The meeting: adopted a recommendation from the Works Committee that the council agree to provide extra annual street lighting costs in connection with Lincoln Road street lighting of £l2 Per annum, commencing in the next financial year. , _ .. On the recommendation of the Finance Committee it was resolved that the Valuer-General be requested again to consider the effect on the Ricrarton borough ratepayers of the early revaluation of the city of Christchurch. It was decided that the junction of Straven Terrace and Straven Street be sealed at an early date. A grant of £2 2s was made towards the funds of the St John Ambulance Association. The fee for the registration of dogs was fixed at 10s each, with the payment of 2s 6d each for shepherds’, drovers’ and farmers’ dogs for a number not exceeding three.
