STOCK IMPORTATIONS.
Ready for Lifting of Embargo. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, This Day. Regarding the embargo on the importation of live stock from Britain. Mr Forbes states that the Department of Agriculture has prepared a set of conditions which would be imposed upon the importation of stock in the event of the embargo being lifted. These conditions embody most complete and thorough precautions of a much more elaborate nature than those taken by other importing countries. The Minister of Agriculture was now going carefully into the whole question, which will be considered by the Government. No definite action will be taken without first making the Government’s views known to all farmers’ organisations and giving them every opportunity- for expressing their opinions.
