POLICE COURT.
False Pretences Cases Cleared Up. Percy Hugh Reckenzaum, 49 years cf age, a farmer, at present serving a sentence at Paparua Prison, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment on each of two charges of false pretences when he appeared before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., in the Police Court this morning. Chief-Detective Dunlop said that the present charges were the aftermath of a series that had been before the Court some time ago. The accused was at present serving a sentence of twelve months’ imprisonment and it was with the object of clearing the matter up that the present charges had been laid. Broke and Entered Shop. Pleading guilty to a charge of breaking and entering the shop of Harry Inns, 115, Armagh Street, and committing the crime of theft, Julius Barth. 54 years of age, a private bailiff, was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Bail was allowed in the sum of £25 and one surety of £25. For Trial. Cyril Rhodes, of Breezes Road, .who was alleged to have stolen a motorcycle, valued at £l2 10s, the property of Raymond Joseph Fleete, elected to be tried by a jury and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Mr Russell appeared for the accused, who pleaded not guilty. Bail was allowed in the sum of £SO and one surety of £SO. a condition being that he reported daily to the police. Serious Charge. Ormond Leslie Pawsey (Mr Tracy) pleaded not guilty to a charge of unlawful carnal knowledge. lie was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail was allowed in the sum of £SO with one surety of £SO.
