“ I am sure that some parents do not realise the importance of regular school attendance for their children,” stated the principal of the Christchurch Technical College (Dr D. E. liansen) in his report to the meeting of the Board of Governors of the College last night. Some parents allow their children to stay away for occasional days without any considerable reason. The results in some cases are detrimental both to the progress of the pupils concerned and to their attitude towards their work. Boys and girls have this term made a good average attendance, much better than in the winter term, when both measles and influenza were prevalent.”
