There was further discussion on the question of the driving of stock at last evening’s meeting of the Riccarton Borough Council, when a letter was received from the Minister of Agriculture (the lion C. E. Macmillan) suggesting that the by-law concerned should be modified to allow sheep and lambs to oe driven from the saleyards from 3 p.m. on Wednesdays instead of from 4 p.m., as at present. The council received the letter and decided to reply to the Minister that members considered there was no reason why any alteration should be made.
