WAR IN THE DESERT.
Abyssinians Raid Italian Somaliland. ROME, December 7. The Italian Government has sent a Note to the Government of Abyssinia demanding satisfaction for an armed attack on an Italian outpost at the Well of Ulual, in Somaliland. Abyssinians allegedly crossed the frontier and killed 60 and injured 400 Italian Somali guards. The guards held out until reinforcements arrived and routed the attackers. The attackers fled, leaving arms, munitions and equipment littered over ten miles. Two Italian planes bombed the Abyssinians, whose casualities are believed to be heavy.
The Abyssinian Government denies responsibility.
