Swimming Club Opens Season. Following were the results of races held at the Lyttelton Swimming Club’s opening on Saturday: 33 l-3yds—A. Torrens 1, E. Gillard 2, A. Erickson 3. Dive —L- Tombs 1. A. Erickson 2. 50yds Handicap—A. Erickson 1, L. Scott 2, B. Toy 3. Women’s 60yds Handicap—M. Pitcaithly (2sec! 1. B. Weastell (2sec) 2, R. Madden Usee) 3. Women’s 25vds Handicap—M Crawford (scr) 1. R- M'Donald (4sec) 2, M. Pitcaitbly (Isec) 3. Cricket. Playing at Officers’ Point on Saturday afternoon, Lyttelton Miniature Rifles Cricket Club’s C team. 52 and 107 for five wickets declared, defeated Heathcote, 27 and 67 for five. The best batsmen for Lyttelton were R. Miller 23, J. May 21 and A. Mills 17: and for Heathcote, Lagrosse 19. Bowling for Lyttelton. Miller took five wickets for runs and C. Fowles three for 10 and Eowr for 35.
