Two Boys Arrested in City Shop.
Two boys, who were arrested for shoplifting in Woolworth’s last evening, gave the police a considerable amount of trouble. One of them escaped, and the other, while being interrogated, ran away with a constable in chase. When caught, he gave a false name and address.
Orife of the boys, aged fifteen years and a half, appeared in the Children's Court this morning, charged with steal ing goods valued at Is 2d, the propertv of Wool worths. Ltd.
Senior-Sergeant Fox said that two boys were arrested at the shop last evening, but one of them escaped and went to his home at Lyttelton. He was being interviewed by the police to-day. It was suggested that the case should be adjourned, so that the other boy’s story might be heard. He added that the bov in Court ran away while being questioned, and then gave a false name and address The case was adjourned till next Saturday.
