LABOURER’S DEATH.
Fatal Fall From Farm Dray. Badly injured through being thrown from a dray when the horse bolted, George Reid, a farm labourer, aged fifty-six, died while being brought into Christchurch from Motunau yesterday afternoon. Reid, who was employed by Mr N. D. Campbell, of “Glendhu” station, fell heavily on his head when thrown from the dray. Dr L. H. Marshall, of Cheviot, was driving the injured man to Christchurch, but when he reached Kaiapoi, found that Reid was dead. An inquest will be opened this morning before Mr 11. P. Lawry.
