Heavy seas are still lashing St Kilda pier, preventing the police from ascertaining the fate of the occupants of the kiosk. A man assisting in the rescue work collapsed and was drowned, bringing the total known dead to six. A creek adjoining the championship tennis courts at Kooyong. Melbourne, rose ten feet over the twentv-four-foot embankment. The courts, on which the Australian championships will be played in January, are now between thirty and forty feet under water, and only the top of the grandstand is visible. The Australian and Victorian championships may now have to be transferred to Sydney.
