PIONEER’S DEATH.
Per Press Assoc iation. WELLINGTON. This The death has occurred at Scatuuir of Mrs Allan Cameron, who has been a resident of Wellington province for nearly 94 years. Mrs Cameron arrived in V ellington harbour on the sailing ship Blenheim on December 31. 1840. and landed on Petone beach with her parents on New Year’s Day, 1841, being carried ashore on the back of a Maori. She was a schoolgirl at the time of the great earthquake of 1855.
