Proposed Sub-associations’ Competition. MANAGEMENT GF GAME. The proposal from the West Coast that the Canterbury Association .establish a competition among its sub-asso-ciations similar to the Hawke Cup competition was dealt with at a meeting of the Canterbury Cricket Association last night. The letter suggested the inclusion of the South Canterbury and Asnburton minor associations in the competition. It was stated that su.ch a scheme could not be started this season, and that there was little likelihood of the South Canterbury and Ashburton Associations joining in. A decision was made to send copies of the correspondence to the associations and sub-associations mentioned in the letter, and t.o state that a conference would be arranged if considered necessary. There were present at the meeting:— Messrs W. L. King (chairman), W. H. Winsor, E. I-:. Luttrell, M. C. Ward, It. C. Burns, G. H. Robertson, R. H. North, J. L. Kerr, S. L. Wright, G. S. A. Billcliff, C. 11. Ayling, F. A. Jarrett and C. S’. Thompson. Dates for Matches. In agreement with a suggestion from the Wellington Association, the meeting decided that the Canterbury v. Wellington match at Christchurch be played on December 31 and January 1,2 and 3. Approval was given to the action of the Lancaster Park Board in granting use of the park to the Canterbury Women’s Cricket Association for the match against the English women’s team on Wednesday or Thursday, February 6 or 7: and also to the New Zealand Women’s Cricket Council for a match against the same team .on Saturday and Monday. February 16 and IS. Mi* R. C. Burns was appointed the association’s direct representative to attend the meetings of the New Zealand Council to-morrow night. Colts’ Match on Pxiday. S. Andrews and F. P. O’Brien will not be available for the colts’ match on Friday. The selection to fill their places will be - made shortly.
