MARRIED MAN KILLED.

Lorry Capsizes on Hill at Fairlie. (Special to the " Star.”) TIMARU, November 6. A motor accident at Fairlie at 7.55 o’clock this morning, caused the death of William George Shaw, a married man with ten children. According to advice received by Police Inspector 'O’Halloran from Constable Mackintosh at Fairlie, Shaw, who was an employee of the Mackenzie County Council, was travelling to work on a council lorry driven by William Struthers. The vehicle was mounting a steep hill when a defect developed in the steering gear, causing it to back down the hill. The lorry swung round on the lock and capsized in the middle of the road. Shaw received severe head injuries from which he died instantly. Dr Loughnan was called to the scene, but Shaw was already dead. An inquest will be held.
