Term British Subject Abolished. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, November 5. ! The Government of the Irish Free j State has issued the text of a Citizen- ! ship under which the title, ! “ British subject,” is abolished in favour of “ citizen of the Irish Free i State.” The new citizen, however, will !be entitled to claim the privi- : leges of British citizenship as long as the Free State is a member of the British Commonwealth of Nations. | It is added that, as long as the Free State citizens enjoy the privileges of | British citizenship outside the Free I State, the Government in Dublin ; undertakes to provide all Empire citi- ! zens with - similar privileges in the Free State. j The Dublin correspondent of the i “ News-Chronicle ” says that the Citi- | zenship Bill has created surprise in | Dublin, where its implications are not j yet fully understood.
