GOING TO ENGLAND.

Farewell to K. Brown of Sydenham. Mr Ken Brown, the popular Sydenham and Canterbury Rugby representative, who is leaving shortly for England, was farewelled in the Sydenham Rugby Club’s rooms last night. There was a large attendance of Rugby and Athletic Club members. Mr A. E. M’Phail, president of the Rugby Union, in presenting Mr Brown with a leather travelling bag on behalf of the Sydenham Rugby Club, spoke of his splendid record in sport in Canterbury. He had proved himself a hard worker for the club, and had always set an excellent example to the younger members. Mr M’Phail then wished Mr Brown the best of luck and bon voyage. Mr Cam Greatbach, one of the senior coaches, and Mr Wal Gasson. on behalf of the old members, also spoke. Mr W. Calderwood, president of the Sydenham Amateur Athletic Club, presented Mr Brown with a travelling rug on behalf of the club members. lie said that he had been a valuable member and they were sorry he had to go. He extended the club’s best wishes. Mr Brown, in replying, thanked the two clubs for their presents, and assured those present that he would always remember the happy times spent with Sydenham players and club mates.
