POLAR EXPLORATION.
LITTLE AMERICA, November 5. Paul Siple informed the base camp that his sledging party has reached Mount Grace M’Kinley in the Edsel Ford Range and is starting an investigation of the unexplored area. Daily weather reports will be sent to RearAdmiral Byrd preparatory to his aerial reconnaissance flight over the area and beyond to further the survey work started by the first expedition on the Ross Ice Barrier. Far to the southward the two tractor parties appear to have extricated themselves from the crevasse area after a retreat northwards and are now progressing in an easterly direction around the crevasses.
