SCHOOL DENTAL CLINIC.

Raising of Funds for Woolston. Although the Woolston School Committee received advice recently from the Department of Health that the dental clinic at the school would be closed at the beginning of this month, nothing has been done in the matter. Dr T. Fletcher Telford, Medical Officer of Health, stated this morning that the question of closing the clinic was being held in abeyance. The committee has arrears amounting to £52 10s to pay towards the upkeep of the clinic, in addition to a subscription of £2 10s a month. An appeal has been sent to the Minister of Health (the Hon J. A. Young) and an effort is being made to raise funds to continue the clinic for a month, in the hope that householders will do something to help. A certain amount has already been raised in the district, and it is probable that the clinic will be continued this month, pending the result of the appeal to the Minister.
