BIRTHDAY DANCE.

Mr and Mrs W. Burgess recently gave a dance at Dixieland in honour of the coming-of-age of their youngest daughter, Nancy. Mrs Burgess received the guests wearing a frock of black marocain trimmed with black eire lace, and carried a bouquet of red and primrose shaded flowers. The evening was spent in dancing. The Monte Carlo was won by Miss P. Harrison and Mr P. A. Beer, and the lucky spot by Miss G. Reid and Mr H. Hulston. Music was supplied by the Dixieland orchestra. Miss Nancy Burgess was presented with a bouquet totone with her frock by Miss V. Lyttle, and Mr R. Lister presented her with the customarv kev. The guests were: Mr and Mrs W. Burgess, Mr and Mrs C.
