BROADCAST CONCERT.
Combined Orphanages Appeal. For the past two years a successful means of raising- funds for the combined Anglican, Presbyterian and Methodist Orphanages has been a “ Radio Evening ” broadcast from 3YA. On these occasions radio listeners were asked to invite their friends to their homes to listen in to the broadcast concert, and during the evening a collection was taken up in aid of the orphanages’ bread bill. The “Radio Evening” will be repeated this year and will take place on Tuesday next. On that occasion a high grade concert arranged by the Christchurch Liedertafel and other wellknown artists will be broadcast from the Radiant Hall. Tickets for the concert at the Radiant Hall are obtainable ; at St Saviour's Orphanage office. Church House. Cashel Street, or at the D.1.C.. where reservations may be made. Radio listeners throughout Canterbury are being communicated with in reference to this appeal, and it is hoped that the result this year will be as generous as it has been in the past. The artists assisting at the concert are: Mrs Graham Jameson. Miss Cicely Audibert, Messrs S. C. Andrews, J. Cocks, R. Allison, P. A. Caithness, J. Fraser Thomson, Arthur Gordon, H. Francis, L. N. Fleming and C. RomeralL
