SALE OF WORK.

The sale of work promoted by the Ladies’ Guild of the Church of Christ, Beckenham, was opened yesterday afternoon by the minister, Pastor J. TyrrellBaxter. The sale continued throughout the afternoon and evening, and a busy time was spent in buying and selling. Good returns were reported. The stalls were all daintily decorated and well stocked. Stall-holders were:—Fancy, Mesdames Knigr and Boughen; sweets, Mesdames J. Tyrrell-Baxter, M’Gee and Burt; plain, Mrs Boot en: cake, Mesdames Hurst and Shipman; produce and variety, Messrs King and Melville; bran tub, the Endeavourers; tea rooms, Mrs B. Tyrrell-Baxter, Mrs Talbot, Misses Talbot and Clark
