Breaking and Entering Charges Laid.

William Eric Lintott, a labourer, 21 y-ears of age, was charged in the Police Court this morning with breaking and entering the dwelling of F. Humm by day on July 6 and committing theft. A further charge of breaking and entering the dwelling of E. Emerson with intent to commit a crime on July 14 was also preferred. Lintott was remanded until July 24. On the application of Mr D. W. Russell, the name of a young man, jointly charged in one case with breaking and entering, was suppressed. Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., presided. Serious Charge. Joseph Puneke liuria, 28 years of age, was charged with attempted rape at Kaiapoi on July 12, and was remanded to appear op July" 24. Bail was allowed in £IOO and one surety of £IOO. Huria was represented by Mr Lee.
