Y.W.C.A. ACTIVITIES.

Mother Goose Fair Planned for October. The monthly meeting of the Board of Directors of the Young Women's Christian Association was held on Alonday. The opening devotional period was led by Airs F. AI. Warren, president, and Airs AI. Al’Leod occupied the chair. A review of the recent street appeal was made, and the board was grateful for the amount raised, although it was not so large as hopec? for. It appreciated the help which had been given, and specially thanked the Alothers’ Club for assistance on the produce stall, and the Girl Citizens for pinning the 50,000 badges. Arrangements were discussed for a “ Alotlier Goose ” fair, which the girls of the association suggested holding about the middle of October. The members of the board decided to unite with the girls in this effiort. Reports of activities connected with the association showed that goo<J work was being done in all departments. The opportunity courses held in the afternoon owed much of their success to the many business men and women who had contributed talks and* demonstrations to the girls. Nominations for Board. A committee was set up to consider nominations for the board and committees for the ensuing year. Resignations were received from Alesdames E. D. Mosley, A. C. Cottrell and C. T. Hand-Newton and Aliss C. L. AleredithKaye. Members of the board expressed appreciation of the services rendered to the association by these ladies, and the hope that they might still be able to help in committee work. The Alothers’ Club entertained the members of the Y.ALC.A. Boys’ Gordon Hall Auxiliary at a social afternoon this week. On behalf of the Alothers’ Club, Mrs R. A. Ambridge (president) welcomed the visitors, and expressed the hope that, with their similar interests, the two groups might fine? much in common and enjoy meeting together. During the afternoon, songs were contributed bv Mrs Vaughan and Airs R. J. M’Laren. Competitions and afternoon tea completed the programme. Mrs W. Foster, in thanking the hostesses, said she hoped that this was only the first of many occasions when Y.M.C.A. and Y.W.C.A. mothers would meet together.
