TO BE REINSTATED.
Unemployed Men Placed on Sustenance. Arrangements have been made by which 200 men who were taken off the. Bottle Lake iob and placed on sustenance are to be reinstated.. This announcement was made following on a conference among the Mayor (Mr D. G. Sullivan, M PA, Messrs H. J. Otley (chairman of the North Canterbury Hospital Board', W. S. Wharton (secretary) and R. T. Bailey ’ (officer-in-charge of the Labour Department). The Mayor has also learned that arrangements are being made to re-engage most of the returned soldiers who have been put on sustenance. It was stated yesterday that the Mayor had been in touch with Mr Bailey and that arrangements had been made for the City Council to find work on relief for thirty of the sustenance men. s n m unE a a is a a m is @3 si a a in a ©
