AMERICAN DEBATERS.
Arrangements for Visit to Christchurch. Mr C. F. Hart, secretary of the Canterbury College Dialectic Society, announced last night that, subject to alteration, the Washington University debaters speak in Christchurch on August 9 and 13. The first debate, on the Thursday night, will be on the subject “ That the Policy of Economic Nationalism Should be Abandoned.” while the subject to be debated 'on the Monday night will he ” That Political Democracy has Proven a Failure.”
Each debate will be followed by a short lecture on American problems by one of the visitors.
