The railway line between Christchurch and Lyttelton is to be beautified by the planting of trees. This is to be done as a result of investigations made by the Christchurch Beautifying Association. It was found that little improvement could be effected between the city and Opawa, but from Opawa to Woolston, the line was mapped out or shrubberies. The Railway Department is to dig the holes for the trees, i number of which will be silver birch.
