Film Company Now Turns to House of Lords. RASPUTIN LIBEL CASE. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received July 18. 12.10 p.m.) LONDON, July 17. The Appeal Court dismissed with costs the appeal of Metrg.-Goldwyn-Mayer against the decision awarding Princess Irina Alexandrovna £25,000 damages for libel in respect of the film Rasputin and the Empress.” The Court granted a stay of execution, pending an appeal to the House of Lords, providing'a further £SOOO was paid to Princess Youssopoff. The Princess alleged that the character of Natasha, who in the film was made to appear as the mistress of Rasputin, was based upon her life at the Russian Court and libelled her in respect to the alleged relations with Rasputin.
