NEWS FROM THE PORT.
Shortage of Supplies at Relief Depot. Owing to lack of supplies, the Lyttelton relief depot will be closed, but it will be opened on Fridays for the distribution of food and stores. The Mayor (Mr W. T. Lester) stated that the committee had distributed all the clothing and boots available, and would be pleased to receive gifts of such articles so that the depot could be reopened. School Closed.
The Lyttelton District High School closed yesterday until Monday to enable the teaching staff to attend the teachers’ course at Christchurch. Billiards Tourney.
C. Toy won the flying fifty handicap billiards tournament held at the Lyttelton Club on Monday evening. D. Collins was runner-up.
