“WHITE ENSIGN.”

Refreshingly Original Story.

A refreshingly original story of modern life in the British Navy is offered in “White Ensign,” showing at the Theatre Royal this week. There is a delightful naval atmosphere about the film, which was made with the cooperation of the British Admiraltv. “White Ensign” is a combination cf humour, drama and romance, and. apart from being a record of life at sea, it is an exciting tale of a rising on Santa Barbara, an island in the Atlantic, where British lives are endangered. Anthony Kimmins is admirably suited to the part of the dashing young officer, very keen on the charming daughter of the British Consul at Santa Barbara, but equally true to the call of duty. There is a strong list of supporting features, including another interesting and instructive bridge talk by Ely Culbertson, whose subject this week is “Three Knaves and a Queen.”
