(By “GOALIE.”) The major item of interest this week i<s the visit of the Maori team. Arc.whenua, from Temuka. The girls will arrive in Christchurch on Friday ar.d will be billeted bv members of the executive. On Friday night their hostesses will take them to see the big shops, while Bunting’s brush factory will be visited the following morning. Arowhenua will play the C grade representatives on Saturday afternoon, and at night both visitors and the home team will be entertained at a picture party. The C representatives are:—Goal, Nola Lee (St Michael’s). M. .M'Cammon (Mairehau B). N. Wilder (Waltham); centre. P. F-oiisey (ABC). D. Judd (Mairehau B), R. Savage (ABC); defence, J. Bruce (St Michael’s), R. Mills ABC), H. Knowles (Rawea B); emergencies, B. Cullen (Rangers), D. Knott (Kia Ora). When the West Coast and Buller teams travel to Dunedin for the August tournament the girls will have to spend one night in Christchurch both before and after the tournament. The association wishes to find billets for these players, and those who can help in this direction are asked to communicate with Mrs J. D. Cairney (secretary) as soon as possible. The following are the senior B representatives:—Goal, P. Phillpott (Technical C), J. Twose (Technical Ft), Gwen Kinley (Technical C), J. M’Millan (Belfast A): centre, M. Price (Celtic A), G. Mullins (West Old Girls A), A. Menzies (Hinemoa A): defence, M. Fancy (Technical B). Grace Kinley (Technical C), N. O’Callaghnn (Technical B). M. Price will he captain. This team will play a match in Wellington on August 4. The side is shaping well and showing strength. However. it will need all its force, as Wellington will have a strong team. Saturday’s Matches. Technical played a good game against Cathedral on Saturday. The field play on both sides was excellent. Cathedral, whose centres were outstanding, won by 5 goals. * Mairehau appeared inclined to bunch, making it difficult for the girl with the ball to see where to pass. In the first half Varsity’s goals mounted speedily, but after the spell Mairehau improved considerably, and showed much cleaner action in passing. Ina Campbell held her goal together well. After a great struggle the game ended with Mairehau only two goals behind their opponBeokenham A scored an excellent win over Rigby's A when, playing one short in goal, they defeated their opponents 10-7. Digby’s combination showed up strongly in some fast rallies. The two Beckenham goalies deserve praise for the way in which they scored under difficulties. Winnie Bam. too, was noticeably for good work in the centre. Waiata failed to hold ABC. the halftime score being 10-4 in ABC’s favour. Waiata’s .centres played a vigorous game, but the goalies were apt to stay in the one position too long when waiting for the ball to be passed. St Marv’s, who played Ngaio, put nr> an excellent defence and kept just ahead from the stair. Score: St Marv’s 11. Ngaio 9. C

Merivale and. Varsity played a vlgdr»V S , which ended: Varsitv 7 Merivale 6.
