At the request of his parents, who admitted that they* could not control him, Manchester magistrates committed to a school an cight-year-old boy who had tried to drown his sister, put iodine in a pot of tea, set fire to a bed, had broken into houses, hurled an inkpot at his teacher, and had attempted to strike a woman with an axe.
The Court was told that the boy*, when three years of age. was blown across a road by the explosion of two gasometers, but various doctors who had since examined him had not found any* trace of serious iniury.
