To guide motorists crossing the Carlton Bridge and travelling east two lines of aluminium-coloured knobs have been placed in position on the roadway by the City Council. The knobs, which are about three inches in diameter and raised an inch or so from the bitumen, lead in curved lines from the centre of the bridge towards the now familiar lamp post in the one direction and down the top of Park Terrace in the other. The new lines are easier to than the old whitewash marks, and give a gentle bump to any driver who strays off the route laid out for him.
