Gatherings Held in Town and Country. COMING-OF-AGE CELEBRATED. 1 Mr and Mrs T. Jackson entertained their friend's at a dance in the Argonaut Hall to celebrate the coming of age of their youngest daughter, Margaret. A • Monte Carlo dance was won by Miss > North and Mr Timms, and a lucky spot dance was won by Miss Hettriek and Mr Hettriek. Items were given bv Miss S Flora Fitt and Miss Irene Keece. M’lntyre. who has left for Wellington and Sydney. On behalf of those present. Mr Roland wished Mr M’lntyre every success in his new business ven- ' ture. An enjoyable evening was spent in the Shirley Bowling Club’s pavilion on Thursday, when the annual euchre match was played against the Edgeware Bowling Club, resulting in a win for Shirley. After supper Mr Crocker, on behalf of the Edgeware team, congratulated Shirley on their win. Mr Dingle, the Shirley president, responded. Bull was M.C. Extras were played by Miss S. Bull. A Monte Carlo one-step was won bv Miss Edna Bull and Master Foster Bull, and a Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr Stockdale and Mrs Eric Bovle. Women’s Division Social. A successful social organised bv the members of the Southbroolc-Flaxton branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was heid recently in the Southbrook Hall.
