Water frequently drains to the lower part of the spare tyre cover and then stays there until it evaporates. The presence of this water can go a long way toward rotting the tyre fabric. The best solution is a small hole in the bottom of the tyre cover, or in the lower part of the tyre well when spares are carried on the; sides.
