SHORTER WEEK.
A further attempt to induce the Christchurch City Council to consider a shorter working week for its employees is to be made by Councillor A. E. Armstrong. lie has given notice to move the following motion at the next meeting of the council next Monday: “Believing that the shortening of the working week is the only means by which the unemployed can be reabsorbed into their respective industries, this council immediately sets up a special committee to report on che advisability of a shorter working week for its employees.”
