RELIEF OF DISTRESS

Contributions to Mayor’s Fund. Contributions to the Mayor's Relief of Distress Fund in respect to the appeal launched by the Canterburv Progress League now total £4143 2s Id. Cash donations amount to £1964 7s 7d and cash promised and goods received represent £2178 14s Gd. All cash is received by the City Treasurer (Mr J. W. Niven), while goods should be sent to the Central Relief Depot and materials suitable f° r Joking c^ot bes to the Women’s Auxiliary, 184. Oxford Terrace. Additional subscriptions are as follows:

Ihe honorary director of the Central Relief Depot acknowledges the following sums given to the Metropolitan Relief Association for the relief of distress: Mrs C. M. Orford. £5; Mr P. E. .Coleby, £5; Dr Allison, £2 2s; and Anonymous, 10s. M’Donald’s Cash Tailoring Co. has given a suit of clothes for a normal sized man. made to order, of the value of £4 15s; Mrs Pope, Cashel Street, has given £5 worth of wool.
