ANIMALS DESTROYED.
Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 13. During the past eight months, 65 dogs and 241 cats have been destroyed by the Wellington Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Inspector Nicol said that of the dogs destroyed 35 had been injured in motor accidents. The cats destroyed were mostly strays or had been left in empty houses or flats. Over 2000 dogs have been registered in Wellington at ten shillings a head.
