KAIAPOI BOROUGH.
Proposed New Bridge Over W aimakariri. The Kaiapoi Borough Council met last night. The Mayor (the Rev W. H. A. Vickery) presided. The Main Highways Board wrote with reference to widening the btitlge . crop* the north branch of the Waimakariri at Kaiapoi. and advising the council to prepare plans and an estimate of a new bridge so that the question of finance could be further considered. If the council was able to finance the work and draw up proposals for the current year the provision of an item on the estimates would be considered. The board would be pleased to know if the council intended to carry out the construction of a new bridge. The letter was received.
