Cricket Broadcasts.
Dear Sir, —Would y T ou kindly settle a dispute regarding the broadcast by 2BL of the Test cricket on Saturday’ night. Some people are under the impression that 2BL is re-broadcasting a short wave broadcast from England. I contend that the atmosphere of the match is “arranged" in 2BL s studio and that the commentary is simply* an enlargement of cable and radiophone messages to Australia. Who is correct?—l am, etc , BARXUM
2BL bases its description on a cable pcrv:ce and the effects ire arranged. See a paragraph in yesterday’s column, “ People and Their Doings.”—Ed., “ Star.”
